I guess so, yes. The question is: Does the combination of SHM-MIT with non-SYSv3 possibile at all? If not, then ./configure should deal with enabling the extension in Gnash or not. If yes, then I ask you to patch the code since you probably are more familiar with the class (I didn't even know it exists).
