Isn't it weird that a plugin could crash firefox and KDE/X?
I am 99% sure this is a bug in the OpenGL driver for your card. I would
suggest using the AGG renderer backend instead.

How do I do that?

Run configure with --enable-renderer=agg.

I use the nvidia driver.

How can I isolate the bug and get it fixed?

Isolating: you can run gnash in a debugger, to find out which OpenGL
call is causing the X crash.
Ok, that is beyond me to run a debugger on a gnash plugin. :-)

What I will try is running the nv video driver and then I can use gnash to save all the .swfs on that site and then hopefully be able to debug the command line gnash. :-)

Getting it fixed: that all depends on Nvidia, since their driver is
proprietary.
If I can demonstrate a bug consistently then I think they will fix it. :-)
