Hi
I downloaded the bz2 files yesterday and tried to
install by running ./configure (and when that failed,
by running ./configure --config-cache)
This are the responses:
Following ./configure:
checking build system type... i386-apple-darwin8.8.3
checking host system type... i386-apple-darwin8.8.3
checking target system type... i386-apple-darwin8.8.3
checking for a BSD-compatible install...
/usr/bin/install -c
checking for -p flag to install... yes
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking for gawk... no
checking for mawk... no
checking for nawk... no
checking for awk... awk
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... no
checking whether to enable maintainer-specific
portions of Makefiles... no
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... (cached) no
checking for gcc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cl... no
configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in
$PATH
See `config.log' for more details.
And following ./configure --config-cache
configure: creating cache config.cache
checking build system type... i386-apple-darwin8.8.3
checking host system type... i386-apple-darwin8.8.3
checking target system type... i386-apple-darwin8.8.3

See `config.log' for more details.
What do I need to make the install smoothly? Many
thanks, and apologies if this has already been
described earlier.
