I also think we should have a feature freeze two weeks before the release date, and a regression-only period during the week before the release.

We've agreed amongst the people on irc://freenode.net#gnash that we should be doing releases more often. Instead of six months, we should target a release every three months. Given the relase date of 0.8.2, February 21, that means that 0.8.3 is targetted for May 21. We're nearly half-way there.
