John Gilmore (irc:gnu) kindly allowed me a login on his Fedora 6 machine, with an eye toward building for OLPC. It looks like we're running into a bug in binutils, the generic expression of which is:
`.sym' referenced in section `reloc_sym' of file.o: defined in discarded section `.text.sym' of file.o. It looks like a fix to ld is necessary to fix this problem. I don't know why 0.8.3 is having this problem when (I expect) older versions of gnash didn't. The problem comes up when trying to create libgnashserver. Here's one of many errors; `.L2441' referenced in section `.gnu.linkonce.r._ZNSt6vectorIN5gnash8as_valueESaIS1_EE13_M_insert_auxEN9__gnu_cxx17__normal_iteratorIPS1_S3_EERKS1_' of .libs/PropertyList.o: defined in discarded section `.gnu.linkonce.t._ZNSt6vectorIN5gnash8as_valueESaIS1_EE13_M_insert_auxEN9__gnu_cxx17__normal_iteratorIPS1_S3_EERKS1_' of .libs/PropertyList.o Any advice? Anybody seen this before?
