It's a bug in configure.ac. The ming utilities (ming-config and makeswf) need to be checked separately from libming-dev because at least on Ubuntu they come in separate packages. I didn't have the ming utilities installed, and so ''make dist'' was told to ignore the files they need. Although the code did the right thing, we didn't generate a warning about makeswf being missing. That's the bug. Fixed. Looking at the .po problem next.
