Between 0.8.5 and 0.8.6, the GTK gui was changed to use a GtkCanvas
instead of a GtkDrawingArea. There are also notes in there about
"cleaning up gtk.cpp". Does anyone remember what this cleanup was going
to be, and is a GtkCanvas better than a GtkDrawingArea ? I've been
hacking on renderers and guis some, so was curious, as I didn't make
this change, and any discussion was a long time ago... :-)
