...caused me errors during the boot process, which required me to do a
hard shutdown(holding down the power button). When I added no_auto_cmd
after 'console=tty' it booted, without errors.

I've made the changes on the wiki page. Did it work for you without
no_auto_cmd to boot your installed system?
