i think nginx is a possible improvement,
though not sure if it will fix all issues.
Like Samgee mentioned, it might be unlikely that this traffic is to
blame for it.
i'm not a gnu/linux super hero but:
- reboot server
might clear up those waiting states
release some of the swap?
- what are those IOerrors in the error.log?
diskspace?
wrong permissions (i doubt it)?
errors because of swap?
i don't know a lot about nginx, but use it more then apache
but am willing to help set it up.
