Just i want to say that this problem is solved.I didn't have 'ata_piix' (serial ata) kernel driver configured, so the system didn't see the hard disk when it's booting. And the initrd wasn't configured.
For initrd: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/src/linux $ sudo mkinitrd -k -o /boot/initrd.img <kernel version> and put it in menu.lst's grub config file. And it's done. Now I'm happy with my new kernel. :) Thanks. On 1/27/07, Franky Almonte <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:
Jay, I already did it. Here is what i have in menu.lst. title gNewSense, kernel 2.6.15.7-ubuntu1 root (hd0,0) kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.15.7-ubuntu1 root=/dev/sda1 ro quiet splash vga=791 resume=/dev/sda5 initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.15.7-ubuntu1 savedefault boot Thanks. Just be sure to change the root= to the partition that your root filesystem is on. > > > > On 1/27/07, Franky Almonte <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > Hello guys, > > > > I install gnewsense one week ago. I have a dell latitude d620 with centrino duo (t5500) processor. But now it don't ask me something like that.
