I was thinking the other day is gNewSense only a distribution for free
software? Doesn't it require that the art that comes with that
software to also be "Free Cultural
Works"(http://freedomdefined.org/Definition)?

I don't know , but if the art that comes with the software isn't a
"Free cultural work" then the developers that create the fork also
need to strip it of all the art apart from all trademark images that
you have to deal with anyway.

I guess, in the least it is already encouraged in the sense "you can
make that if you want, and you can make a distribution based on
gNewSense if you think it's so important".
