You can to do
# cat /place/archive.iso > /dev/sdx
That's kinda burn a the image in a disk. The boot shows such like booting a CD.
But I have troubles after to format the pendrive.
I tried mkfs cfdisk and gparted.

Yes, i'm talking about the live i386 iso image. I did not retry yet to
burn netboot image.
