Ooh, you just hit a sore spot for me. I had the same problem with the
WAPv2.2 and the WMP11. Turns out it is a problem *known to Linksys*
since at least January, but there still wasn't any firmware update last
I checked in the August/September time frame. To make matters worse,
those two items are the ones most prominently displayed at CompUSA.
When I returned them, I told them that they should be aware that they
are selling two items that are supposed to work together that don't.

Anyhow, for the OP: for plug-it-in-and-it-just-works, I found the
Cisco 350 series (AIR-PCM352, specifically) worked great with Red Hat
7.3 and 8.0. Not sure about 7.2, though. It's definitely more
expensive, but after doing battle with the wlan-ng drivers for the prism
based cards, I had no problem paying the extra. (I did eventually get
the wlan-ng stuff working, but was very unhappy with the way it was
packaged and the work that would have been required to clean it up. If
your inclined to give it a shot, or put up with the messiness of it all,
then have at it...the prism cards are generally cheaper, so if that's a
bigger concern, then it might just be a little more work.)
