I am attempting to move a 43G file from a Mac to another machine for temporary archival purposes. The only machine (RH7.2) that has enough storage is on a different network, so it has been mounted on a different machine (RH7.3) that is connected to both networks. Every attempt at moving this file fails at the 2 Gig limit. Both RH boxen have latest Samba packages . What am I missing here ?

thanks much

You need to upgrade the kernel(?) as that's where the 2GB file limit is. RH 9 (kernel 2.4.18) and probably 8 will handle it.

I should mention that I used tar | ssh -c blowfish remote 'dd > BFF' to test this. No NFS or Samba limits involved.
