Thanks to everybody for their comments. I think that Bruce's comment pretty much sum things up though. In my case, a co-worker composed a document, and then another co-worker used the Word 2000 "review toolbar" feature to record his comments. He didn't actually alter the contents of the document, and he didn't select "record changes" either. I wanted to see these comments before I reviewed the document (to save myself some time) so I looked for similar functionality in OpenOffice. I didn't find this feature in AbiWord either, BTW. Remember: with either OpenOffice or AbiWord, it was impossible for me to see the other reviewer's comments on this document. "Show Changes" didn't show me anything, and neither did "compare documents". I have to confess that I'd never heard of this feature before this time -- before now, I've always used the "record changes" feature for this task. Either that, or I've just used a colored pen... I think that this is just a feature that the OpenOffice development team needs to add to their product. This shouldn't be a big deal. Again, thanks to everybody for their comments! --kevin -- Kevin D. Clark / Cetacean Networks / Portsmouth, N.H.
