Not to mention the condition of the house! :)

My friend's house was built in 2004 and is in great shape. :)

Housing costs are SUBSTANTIALLY lower in Austin (inside the city limits) than in Nashua, NH (inside the city limits). If you move outside the city limits in either area then costs go down, but they go down faster in Austin than in the Nashua area. There is more room in Texas. :)

If you can stand the winters in New England (which are probably milder than Wisconsin) then NH is a good place to live/work. I'd live there if it wasn't so cold.

The cold weather effects lots of things for me that just reduce quality of life. I drive my car on race tracks around TX year round, it would be hard to do that in NH. Cars last longer here than they do there. There are many folks who purchase 'extra' cars for winter driving. My friend has a Mustang GT which was parked for the winter in NH while he drove a very used Cavalier during the winter. He drove the Mustang to work today with the top down. :) It's 77 right now.
