Could it be the fault of the fonts that the HTML browser substitutes for
the ones you use in LibreOffice? I am using "Quanta +" 3.4 (only because it
came with SuSE 9.3 and I am not a very good explorer - actually,
interactively seeing what is produced is very handy). I make sure the
alternate font list includes those that are both close to what I use and
likely to be on Windows or Apple.
I started with the html output from OpenOffice 3.2, then modified it
thoroughly using the recommendations from "HTML for the World Wide Web" 5th
Ed byElizabeth Castro. It really wasn't that hard to get my simple pages up.
And, you will recognize that the individual topics are using a template.
My font list is: "Verdana" "Humanist 512 BT" "Arial" sans-serif. I use
Humanist locally. What the browser substitutes makes a big difference. You
can check my results at www.intrel.com/mea/index.html to see if yours or mine
wins the "Worst Web Page" prize.
