gnhlug-org,

Am I being way too anal... or should we perhaps think about
multiple "jobs" for taking on the responsibilities maddog
had? It might be easier to find replacements if we had established
job "roles", something like...

 Chair
  - coordinate overall activities of user group
  - facilitate user group meetings
  - help find speakers and arrange events
  - speak on behalf of group to public
  - act as a liaison to other LUGs

 Co-Chair
  - assist the chair and assume responsibility in chair's absence

 Publicity Coordinator
  - make sure event notices get sent out
  - update calendar on web site
  - get event listings into local media calendar listings
  - coordinate publicity about upcoming speakers

 Events Coordinator
  - coordinate all logistics for actual meetings, including:
      * finding locations suitable for meeting size
      * determining costs or other issues
      * getting good directions to meeting location
  - help find speakers
  - communicate with speakers to make sure they are all set
    to present

Am I being too "formal" or too "organized"? Or could this help us
identify people? Maddog's been doing it all... but I don't think
we'll find someone else who can do it all alone... (IMHO)

My 2 cents,
Dan
