Hi Jerry

What I said yesterday was:
"Yesterday at school I was talking to Dave Miller about the LBS. He (nhctc)
wants to put on a demo about networking. His original idea was to set up one
of the classrooms and show how routers and switches fit into the business
environment. I suggested that we (gnhlug) could expand our model to show the
same thing. So it was either we show Linux being networked or he was going
to show Windows doing it. So he has agreed to let us use labs #28 and #30
(~30 more computers) for our show. The only thing is that we can set-up and
test it now in room 29A. Then on Friday, 28APR00, we clone our efforts to
the additional rooms and network them together to complete the model. Sound
Good???"

The Pease campus teaches networking and OSs so they want to demonstrate
their stuff. Their first thought was to just network together some computers
(running Window)and show how it worked. Well, I said how about if we (LBS)
expand our model and show networking as part of our business model
demonstration. Dave Miller said, MAKE IT SO AND TAKE TWO MORE COMPUTER LAB
TO DO IT WITH!

As far as the rooms go, to only condition is that we restore the rooms to
the original setup. If we rearrange the tables and chairs then at the end of
the day AFTER WE CLEAN UP we put the tables and chairs back in their
original setup.

If more than 50 people want to see the speakers then we will have two
choices. First we double the session and have the second one later and move
one or both of the other speakers to the classrooms that seats about 25-30.
Or we bite the bullet and the first 50 in the room wins. Before we go into
panic mode I think we need some feedback from the LBS registration site.
Speaking of the LBS registration site, I think we need to include the
"WHERE" in the description of the LBS. A map and or well written directions
would also be a good addition. It would also be a good idea to start
including sponsors on the LBS web site. That way people could get idea of
who is backing this event and just how serious it is.

Hey, at least I can make you laugh. Tell you the truth, I can never
remember what the official name of the show is.

That is very good news. The 3 rooms should be fine for the present. Can we
set them up anyway we want ( I am guessing yes, but just want to make
sure). I don't have the email you sent yesterday in front of me, but can
you explain better about the college wanting to give a Windows demo while
we are presenting Linux, or did I read that wrong?

My biggest concern is the conference room only holding 50 people. I am
afraid may more will want to hear Burlington. and actually all of our
presenters.

Jerry
