One issue that this raises in my mind at least is whether we'll have some formal
organizational structure in place to meet IRS requirements?
I know that when we started a town newsletter there was a requirement to have
some IRS reporting number associated with the bank account, either a personal
SS number or a business taxpayer ID. If we try to open a bank account for the
money I expect gnhlug will encounter similar issues, and if we accept checks for
the merchandise it may be difficult cashing them without a bank account...
I recall some mention awhile ago about a "not for profit" organizational
registration
with the NH Secretary of State, does anyone know the details about that? If not
I'll offer to investigate it, I'd like to know for that town newsletter as well!
THANKS!
