Our next meeting is Wednesday, June 14th,
Christoph Doerbeck from Fidelity will give a presentation on
the Apache web server, PHP ( a web scripting language),
and other related items.
It will be at the Concord Public Library. Networking starts @ 6pm,
meeting @ 7 (1900 geek time). I have already sent the info to
ComputeruserNH. Their deadline is the 10th of the preceding
month. Luckily, that's today.

Installfests sounds like a good idea. They usually don't have too
many new people, but maybe if we advertise it heavily at the
local schools, we can generate some student enthusiasm.
Josh Freeman (QX, questionexchange, spoke at the LBS), had suggested
that QXs CEO Hector Gonazalez speak on the panel last nite.
He couldn't make it, but I thought that might make a good meeting,
since it connects Linux professionals directly with people needing advice.
It might be a good GNHLUG meeting.
In the fall, I had thought about having a Linux games night.
That might work before an installfest. Get the kids interested in
games, then installing Linux to run them on.

I agree. After trying to start a LUG in Concord for more than 3 years,
I'm getting used to rejection. I'll speak anywhere, at any time, about Linux.
The best time, I suspect, to get the students interest, is at the
beginning of the school year. But, local businesses and governments
could be a good target during the summer. Anybody belong to
central NH Chambers of Commerce? Know people in businesses?
If last nite's tape comes out OK, I could show it to local CofCs,
or other business groups, summer schools, day care centers, ...
Ooops, got carried away. It was a long day yesterday.
