New Hampshire Community Technical College (NHCTC) at Pease has a problem and
needs some help. It seems that there are people beating down the doors at
the school wanting to take Linux. The bad part, they do not have enough
instructors to teach the courses. I taught Linux last summer, but I am
retiring from the Navy on 3 Nov and leaving the area. Bob Hillery asked me
to cover at least half of this semester (Sep-Oct unless and replacement is
found earlier) and he will get a replacement for the second half (or
sooner). To make matters worst, after two classes the other Linux instructor
has just backed out due to unexpected job commitments.

NHCTC is where we had our successful LBS 2000. If you guys remember, NHCTC
was extremely accommodating to us for that event. They also let us use their
facility for our regular meetings. Make no mistake about it; we are neither
responsible for their situation nor obligated to bail them out. However, I
just wanted to point out that this would be a unique opportunity for one of
us (or even someone we may know) to help them out this semester and further
strengthen this relationship.

For those that usually get upset for job soliciting on the group please
accept my apologies. Bob Hillery asked me for help and it was MY idea to ask
the group, so send your flame mail to me and not the school.

My class is on Tuesdays from 5:30pm to ~9:00pm and I can turn it over to you
now or after the midterm exam. I also have the lesson plans/quizzes and
exams made up for my class.
The second class is on Wednesday nights from 5:30pm to ~9:00pm. The current
instructor has given a two-week notice and unless someone comes forth ASAP,
this class will surely fold.

Oh yea, the money. Well, teaching will never make you rich, but it will be a
nice Christmas bonus ;-) Thats why those that chose to teach do it because
of passion or strong personal convictions. If the job paid top dollar we
would most like get someone like Maddog or Linus. As it is, they are just
looking for someone who is willing to stand up and make a difference.
