  Scheduling conflicts are inevitable.  We should expect at least some for
every meeting.  (OTOH, scheduling a meeting for 25-DEC would likely be a dumb
idea.)

  Actually, this might be a serious question in disguise.  If these people
really are *very* important, we may want to have more lead time to get the
word out, make plans, etc.

  I move that the question of the date be proposed to the main discussion
list, as this effects everybody, and everybody is the group best equipped to
answer the question.
