  I've got a lead to a potential co-lo site that has more-than-adequate
facilities. It is even located in NH. I am going to follow-up after the
holidays are over.

I now need to start seriously considering equipment. I've got to start
with a 1U rackmount case, since this potential host wants 1U, and keeping
the form-factor as small as possible will be useful if we have to move in
the future. Can anyone make any recommendations? Budget is the biggest
factor by far (although quality has to be adequate for function). If no-one
speaks up I'll just use Google and PriceWatch and pick something that looks
good.

Once I have the case, I need to fill it with parts. Does anyone have any
guesses on requirements? I'm thinking pretty minimal. I've got an old 400
MHz AMD K6 with 128 MB of RAM somewhere at home, I think. What about disk
space? I figure 10 GB should be fine, no? Remember, this is a small
form-factor, budget system. That old full-height SCSI drive you've been
using for a door stop isn't going to help. :-)

My biggest concern is data protection. Local tape backup is pretty much
outside of our budget and situation. I'm thinking something like this:
Keep all local data rsync'ed to some other system. Possibly more than one
system. At least one of those systems is already being backed up, and/or,
periodically burn CDs of the GNHLUG data.

Distribution would almost certainly be Debian.

  Comments and suggestions welcome.
