I'm inclined to default to the Nashua area for Quarterly meetings
unless we hear a resounding cry for some other location and some one
else is willing to put in the legwork to identify a place the hold
the meeting.

I don't consider DWC a "place where we don't normally go", I consider
the "place" to be Nashua. What hurts turnout is going to a "place"
like Manchester, where we don't normally go.

We held the summer quarterly last year at DWC and the turnout
rivalled the Chritmas meetings where md has been the speaker.

DWC has everything we need: they're easy to get to, they have the
large capacity seating, the wired stage, internet access, etc.
Martha's doesn't even have all that. (Though, they have better beer
than DWC :)

Yeah, I agree with you here. I love the MSF idea, but I don't expect
a huge turnout there for Oracle. There might well be a decent
turnout for a BBQ, but then Oracle is competing against the BBQ to
talk to people. And if it's crappy weather, then the turnout is
going to be really low if this is advertised as a Summer Quarterly
BBQ.

I think we should have a BBQ. I think splitting the two events would
be good. Let's plan on the regularly scheduled quarterly, then plan
a BBQ possibly for a weekend and open it up to families like we did
the planning meeting. I thought that worked well, despite the rain :)
(Bruce, can you order better weather for the BBQ? :)

It may look like I'm just sitting here doing nothing,
but I'm really actively waiting for all my problems to go away.

If you're not having fun, you're not doing it right!
