To solve the problem quickly, GNHLUG has re-configured our archives such
that only subscribers can access them. Long-term, GNHLUG plans on making
them fully public again, but with automatic email address guarding.

However, I also need to point out a few things:

  - Other archives of the list can and do exist, which we have no control
    over.
  - The archives have already been picked up by web spiders (like the one
Google uses), which may cache the information indefininately.
  - The email address has obviously been harvested already. It will
continue to circulate among spammers indefinately.

So, while we have taken action, the damage is already done. I am afraid
that address harvesting is an inevitable concequence of any public email
address. I sympathize with your plight (one of my personal email addresses
gets over 500 UBE messages *a day*), but it really is something one cannot
control. Sad but true.

The contact page is in a different software system, which already does
automatic email address guarding.
