It is too early to say exactly what will or will not happen, but things are looking very good for the McAuliffe conference later this year. the McAuliffe conference is a three day event held in Nashua dedicated to providing information on technology issues in education. Hundreds of school IT, teachers, and administrators attend from the NE.
After several years of small presentations on Linux and Open source, it appears there will be much more and mostly from educators who are using Linux in their schools. In particular, it seems the K12Linux Terminal Server Project and the SME E-Server are quite popular along with OpenOffice and various open source programs available for Linux and Windows. Maddog has agreed to speak as well so the conference should give Linux a great boost in the educational area. Later in the year as the program is settled upon, perhaps there will be some tasks that I will be looking for people to do in order to assist those making presentations.
