Progress report on creating a tradeshow banner:
I've created a project in Scribus for a document 72" wide and 30" deep.
The background has a light marigold color.
The GNHLUG logo, skillfully updated by Bill McGonigle (thanks, Bill!)
has been converted into EPS and pasted into the document.
It looks great on the Ubuntu workstation I'm running Scribus on, both
in Scribus and in xpdf, but exported to PDF and viewed in Acrobat7/
Mac or Acrobat 6/Windows, it appears that Tux has developed jaundice:
yellow bleeds through his belly.
I tried a quick fix of pasting a white opaque box over his belly and
moving the EPS in front of that, but it didn't change the effect.
If anyone has the time and skills to try to mess with this one, I'd
welcome suggestions. If you'd like to play with the files yourself,
I've uploaded the Scribus .sla, the logo eps and the resulting pdf to
a 2 meg tarball on:
