I have spent too many days up at the "Hosstraders" Ham Fest, and with
the teachers at NHTI, who were asking (basically) about "how small and
old a box can I use", to be as confident as you are.

Tivo had the right idea:

o Here is the box.  Plug it in.  You have no choice.

Choice, for the uninformed, unknowledgable (yes, and stupid) average
consumer, is bad in a lot of ways.
