I would characterize Bruce's taunt more as thinking on the keyboard than a "back 'atcha". * * * * I am pleased that my water cannons have provoked a more detail analysis of unintended outcomes and unexplored options. And now it looks like some real innovation could come from this "podcast" concept. It would push the envelope for groups like this. Ted and Ben deserve high praise for putting the welfare of the group above winning personal points. They are more than just "task oriented", they strike me as being good hearted. * * * * Mixing up the thread a bit, a small group - perhaps with only private discussions - should run the corporation. When I was even more naive than I presently am, I owned a corporation that I tried to run as a democracy. It was a disaster. Nothing got done. The best leadership is a benign dictatorship of individual(s) that the group respects for their good judgment. The leader(s) listen to the critiques and suggestions offered, make a decision, then share the reasoning for the decision with the group. Open discussions are a bumpy lumpy path, but they seem to be the best route for producing the occasional gem. I would not expect them to lead to consensus very often.
