Hi All,
I just wanted to let everyone know that the Seacoast Linux Users Group had
its first meeting Monday night.
We had a great turn out, accomplished alot, and had alot of fun. We were
grateful to have Jerry Kubeck, GNHLUG and Charlie Farinella, MonadLUG join
us and share their expertise. We established our name easily because we
just couldn't resist being the SLUG's. Thanks to the donation of time from
Bob Knowles and Melanie Burger we hope to have our web site up at slug.org
by tomorrow. We have been warned that slug.com is quite a tasteless porn
site with pages that won't close so, type carefully when visiting us (or
not):-). Our regularly scheduled meetings will be the second Monday of the
Month and we will alternate locations between NH Tech College at Pease and
UNH Durham. The exception to this rule is February when the meeting
conflicts with Valentine's Day. The February meeting will be held on
Tuesday the 15th at 7:00 at NHTC Room 29. We are hoping that Bill Sconce
will be the speaker, Bill has been unable to confirm the date due to a busy
travel schedule but has let us know that there is lots new with Python and
that he would be happy to bring us up to date if his schedule allows. The
tentative schedule for future subjects is: March-IP Masquerading (Durham),
April-Demonstrations of favorite Linux Applications, this is a no speaker
that night when we take advantage of the great Linux Lab at NHTC and bring
in our favorite applications. Questions regarding the SLUG can be addressed
to me, [EMAIL PROTECTED] or Rick [EMAIL PROTECTED] or
Robert [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Thanks to Rick for finding us a great meeting location and to Rob for his
support, knowledge and guidance.
Lori Hitchcock
