I have installed netAtalk (or maybe it came out of the box with RedHat??)
and I must say it works quite well for my home office network. I was
able to export (or whatever the appletalk equiv is) users home
directories, authenticated with their unix username and password. I
have not tried it in a larger environment, but its simply awesome at home.
There is a HowTo at http://thehamptons.com/anders/netatalk/
