  If you're using Red Hat, issue the RPM command:

rpm -q portmap --whatrequires

to get a list of software that is using the Sun RPC port-mapper package, which
amounts to the same thing.

  That would be "man rpm"?  ;-)  Seriously, it is:

rpm -qf file
