  I assume those other servers and workgroups are nowhere to be found in the
customer's LAN?  The likely cause is the DSL link.  DSL, unlike your typical
PPP link, can function very similar to an ethernet bridge.  It is entirely
possible those extra servers/workgroups are elsewhere on the network the DSL
link is connecting you to.  Many DSL providers put firewalls at their end of
the link for this reason.
