Also, if you can get this C:\LINUX\VMLINUZ (say) file to reside
within cylinder 1024 you can point LILO at it (e.g. in lilo.conf
set image=/mnt/dos/linux/vmlinuz). I do this on my wife's machine.

This boot method will work as long as that file is not moved around
(e.g. by a defragmenter program). If that ever happens (never has for
me), boot from linux rescue floppy and re-run lilo.
