wow. If anybody out there is in need of a sniffer/analyzer,
or just is interested in this kind of thing, I highly
recomend ethereal[1]. Before I made my original post, I had
tried 3 or 4 other sniffers, which were mostly all geared
toward snooping passwords, which doesn't do me much good.
Ethereal on the other hand shows boat loads of info compared
to the others I checked out and has a huge list of supported
protocols.
Thanks for all the pointers everyone. I especially like
the idea of using ipchains ... seems like a cool way to
do it.
