AIX is actually a rather nice UNIX, once you get used to it.

Well, not to burst your bubble here....but what type of processor do they
have in them? If they are PowerPC based (also usually has a PCI bus) then
you could try the LinuxPPC guys. If they are Power based (usually has the
MCA bus) then you could have two AIX machines on your hands..if you know
what I mean. Last I knew there was no support in Linux for the Power based
machines.

Do you have any idea of the age of these machines and what series they
are?
