Just go get yourself a couple of NetGear FA310TX cards.  They're probably 
about $20 or $30 a piece, they're incredibly reliable, and work with Linux
(they are psuedo-tulip based cards; i.e. DEC no longer makes the Tulip Chipset 
now that Intel runs the Fab plant, so NetGear now makes their own chip based 
on the Tulip).

Also, 100Mbit cards won't help you much since the cable modems are usually 
throttled down to 1.5 downstream and 512k upstream :)
