The LI prompt means that it can't find the OS - usually because LILO is
using the wrong geometry, or the BIOS can't address that far into the
disk.
Try making '/boot' a separate partition at the beginning of the disk.
Once
Linux has booted, you should be able to use the rest of a large disk.
Or, try using the 'linear' option in /etc/lilo.conf, but I don't trust
this
as much as the previous suggestion.
