I agree... I ended up just removing /etc/securetty to get around this.
Which actually I think is fine... if you're going to let root log in on
ANY pty, what difference does it make which one it is?

Generally the maintainer is listed in the man page or somewhere in the
source tree (source RPMS are available, of course... :) Usually a quick
e-mail is all that is needed, though an actuall correction is always
preferable.
