Sounds like you had a fairly good speech at the school. FWIW, maybe you should
do a different type of comparison between the M$/Linux cost issue. You may
have said FREE enough times and explained the whole GNU aspects of it, but
again maybe some of the students got lost IN that message through its
delivery. I wasn't there so I can't say that is what it was, but maybe the
delivery/approach didn't click with these students as it may another group of
students or business professionals. All in all am glad to hear that more and
more "higher ed" students are looking at Linux seriously. And yes I agree that
no Perl is having NO BRAINS. A college or colleges somewhere I am sure have
already understood this and have hit the road on it before most others and that
will give them a point of interest to prospective students. Ciao
