Hi Ed,
I have a couple machines set up the same way, I downloaded "megamgr" which lets you
rebuild et al. I like it, I forgot where I found it, try a google search for "megaraid
linux" or "megamgr", as I recall it compiled without problems. While on the subject,
what I keep meaning to do is find or write a program that runs as daemon and checks
the raid for degraded status every few minutesthen sends me email, there must be
something out there that does this, anyone seen it?
PS: Just got back from linux expo Montreal, it was a blast. It's still winter up
there!

Hey everyone, I have a RAID 5 device built between 3 drives and one of
the drives failed. How do I get the kernel to rebuild the stripe on
that drive? I'm using persistant superblocks for the autodetection and
the only way I see to do it is by running mkraid, but it appears that
this will destroy the data that's already there. Any info would be
greatly appreciated.
