Derek: Thanks for the additional info. It helped to chase down the
problem.
Evidently, Internic is still pointing the primary name to
LINUX.DAWSON.EPPING.NH.US, which has been decommissioned since I moved
out of Epping (But the IP address is still valid and lives under the
name LINUX.CODEMETA.COM).
I'm in the process of getting Internic to add LINUX.CODEMETA.COM as the
name server.
What took me by surprise is that Internic was using the NAME instead of
the IP Address. Which makes sense if one stops to think about it
(Round-robin DNS and all that).
Oh well, the change is "in process" and should be resolved soon (as
defined by Network Solutions).
To all: sorry for the inconvience. I guess I wouldn't have found out
about it if our Bell Atlantic alarm circuit was more reliable. (Sigh)
