Speaking of IMAP, I was wondering if anyone on this list has
successfully set up IMAP with SSL tunelling, so users can check the "Use
Secure Connection" in Netscape mail and have their username and password
sent encrypted over the network. Our IMAP server is running RedHat 6.0.

I've tried using openssl and sslproxy by following these directions:

http://www.redhat.com/mailing-lists/linux-security/1999-9/msg00008.html

But no luck (Netscape cannot connect to the server). I temporarily
opened TCP wrappers to make sure the connection wasn't being blocked
through that, but I still get the same message.

I've heard of stunnel being another way to do this, but can't find any
info on configuring that short of the man page.

Can anyone who's done this give me some quick pointers? I won't be able
to get to this until tomorrow, but I'll post a short tutorial to the
comp.linux.security newsgroup when I have something that works so that
others may benefit.

Thanks,

Scott
