The last time I called Mediaone to change MAC addresses the whole 
process took a few minutes. Most of the time was spent rebotting the 
Cable modem because some jerk (me) forgot to connect the cable from 
the cable modem to the NIC so we were picking up the wrong address. 
However, when you do call customer service they do have to bounce you 
around because the first person you talk to can only answer your 
questions, not make any changes.
