Linux based HTML editors?:
Well, let me first say that even as a non-geek I recognize the need to
understand HTML at some level in order to make pages so I don't think
WYSIWIG editors are all that great even for non-geeks. I have found
the WYSIWIG editor in StarOffice to be good. The one in the older
versions of Applixware was decent.
However I would steer them to a true HTML editor. It is still work in
progress in terms of menu options for stuff like PHP, etc., but
Bluefish is a really, really nice HTML editor and it easily does all
the normal HTML stuff. It makes coding easy as long as you have some
knowledge of HTML. It is on freshmeat and it is definitely worth
trying.
