I am using a free version of RealPlayer 7 on a linux box behind a
proxy/firewall. To set it
up with the proxy, I did View/Preferences/Proxy, and then selected "Manually
configure
HTTP proxy" and entered the proxy server name and port number.

It will not work with automatic proxies. If your firewall is using an
automatic proxy, you
need to find out the actual DNS name and port number of one of your proxy
servers and
enter that. The port number is usually 80. The server name you have to get
from your
sys-admin (or snoop through the automatic proxy files and find it).
