I have a linux based firewall server product that is VERY user friendly to set up and
maintain on cheap hardware. In fact I saw a bunch of p166/2Gb/32Mb IBM's in the
Electronic Planet that would be perfect for this. Let me know if this is of interest
for what you're doing.

Subject: Call for participation - Setting up nonprofit Firewalls
People,
This involves a few different aspects.
1) I have suggested to a couple of Linux vendors, that helping to
set up the firewalls for the "free computers for nonprofits"
project, could generate good press for these vendors,
for the LUGs, and for Linux in general.
2) I am sending this out to the whole group, so that any other
Linux consultants, firms, vendors, etc., may also
participate in this effort, & recognition.
3) I am suggesting that the Central LUG have a meeting this
summer, where we discuss the various aspects of setting up
firewalls, especially the nonprofit project. This could be
an educational meeting, for those of us who are not firewall
gurus.
4) Rather than fill the list with firewall flames, why don't we
decide whether to have the meeting, on the gnhlug.org list,
or even email between the steering committees. Or, send
email to me, & I w/ forward it to any interested parties.
