OK,
Here's the story. A long time ago, I had a job with a shop that made
hardware. Specifically, we made a comms box with up to 19 68000s in it.
It could talk to anything.
Anyway, one of the EE types told me that if you could touch your nose between
any hardware operation, it was guaranteed to finish. Since then I've used this
bit of superstition to determine how long to hold down a reset switch. Now we
all know this is BS. But today I "fixed" my wife's windows machine by
rebooting and holding down the reset switch while touching my nose.
If anybody wants to have some fun you can mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] and tell her that
all digital electronics can sense whether or not you've touched your nose, it
could be a riot. CC me and I'll post a digest...
