Unless you want to have more and more fun, do not go out and get the source
for Apache and install it on your RH 6.2 machine.

Look in the directory you untarred PHP3 in and locate the file about
installing on a Red Hat RPM install.  You can compile the module for
MYSQL easily using the stock RH install assuming you have installed the apache
development and freetype development RPMS.  It goes easily and will keep
everything where RH expects it to be.  I have done it and it works.

FWIW....you can have a nice PHP system on RH using the modules thatr come
with RH 6.2.  Support for almost everything is built into the module except
Postgres as the only database.  You really, really should work with Postgress
for
a while before rushing into MySQL and building a new module.
